A labor-full day...

Yes, we spent this holiday laboring. :)

The guys worked on hay and combined a bit of the wheat. Mother and I made more apple sauce and juice; cleaned the front refrigerator thoroughly (and then washed a bunch of jars); we did a LOT of laundry; and Mother did 3 health sessions, 1 of them being in person. We also made another batch of our new favorite dessert, called "Baked apples with walnut chunks". We laughed at the originality of this recipe's title, but the resulting product is quite out of the ordinary! If anyone would like, I'd be happy to share it (the recipe). :)

"Trust His Heart"

I'm pretty sure I've shared a different version of this song on my blog some time ago, but it is a continual blessing to me and I wanted to share it again. It is one of my absolute favorites!

My brothers and I spent the day at home. We watched a wonderful Dr. Davis sermon on the topic of "Integrity"... I love how Dr. Davis teaches! I'm always inspired to do better, to serve the Lord more thoroughly after listening to the truths that the Lord has shown this man of God.

This afternoon, we played a couple games of Monopoly (each of my brothers won one), then we watched a couple movies. In between there somewhere, we did chores and the boys ate. I mixed up another batch of my special drink (aka: Lemonade).

We talked to Dad a while ago and learned that he had a pretty rough day with the ache in his mouth. He actually went to see a dentist there in Missoula and they gave him some antibiotics again to fight the infection. He couldn't talk very well, so our visit was short. Please join us in keeping him in prayer. Thank you!

I found a melon and 2 figs...

When I went inside our greenhouse (which is now open to the elements, so doesn't seem much like a greenhouse anymore) to see how things were coming along, I discovered a rather large cantaloupe on one of my climbing melon vines, and also found 2 very small figs forming under the large, beautiful fig leaves. :) How exciting!

Mother and I spent the day cleaning; baking bread; hanging wash out on the line; pulling weeds out of the garden; researching distilled versus reverse osmosis water; and doing the evening milking. I also spent some time playing in the 2 newly arrived piano books I ordered from Marty Goetz's website!!! We enjoy Mr. Goetz's music so much, most of it being portions of the Psalms put to music.... The music he writes is so soothing and praiseful to our Lord. I highly recommend "Sanctuary" especially.

The guys are nearly done now with the first cutting of alfalfa hay, just in time to start on the 2nd cutting! They needed to rake up this last field, as the wind had scattered all the windrows across the field and it looked as though they had mowed the field instead of cutting it with the mower conditioner and the MacDon header. We're thanking the Lord for lots of hay this year!

Well, the guys got home at dark and I stayed up with them while they had their supper and then we prayed together, so now I guess it's bedtime. Mother went to bed early, as she has a full day of helping people with their health concerns tomorrow.

Yes, that was Bach speaking, and I do agree so much, about the twanging part at least! I'm not sure what "Bowling" means in this sense???

Speaking of music, a friend of mine "Tagged" me today and, as I was reading through the questions, the one, "What is your favorite Christmas song" set me to thinking... There are so very many good ones and, though my family and I don't believe this is the time of year that the baby Jesus (or Yeshua, as we believe He was named) was born, we do enjoy listening to the songs of His birth on Rejoice radio at this time of the year. After all, He was born at sometime, and that is something to remember every day of the year! I enjoy many songs about the Lords' birth, but this is one that you may never have heard before, so is the one I decided to share tonight... It's called, "Heaven's Child".

Newly tuned pianos: (Andrew found he could buy the equipment for tuning for less than it would cost us to get in a guy to tune one of our pianos!!! And now, he is able to learn a new skill. *See video at the bottom of this post if you wish to hear how out of tune my new-to-me piano really was!)

My Wurlitzer~

After polishing my piano while cleaning house today, I decided to take a picture and share it with you all... My brothers helped me hang the musical wall-decorations this afternoon and were laughing about how the one instrument has 4 strings, but has 11 tuning pegs! Hmmm... I still like how it looks and so will leave it on my wall. :)

We are headed for bed a little earlier than usual tonight, as we are going to Bismarck in the morning to visit a Sabbath-keeping church group we recently learned of. We actually met a couple of the members at Prairie Days this year, and they seemed really nice and I know they love the Lord too, so we'll see how it goes...

Our piano duet...

Andrew loaded my mom's and my piano duet (that we did at his graduation) onto YouTube this morning, so I thought I'd share it with you now. We are able to play it a lot better when we aren't playing in front of a lot of people (or, in other words, we made several mistakes). :)

I like to play this song too, but this young man plays it a whole lot better than I can... Amazing!!!
Perhaps this is what happens when you start to learn to play piano early in life? My mother tried to get me interested in playing when I was a little girl, but I was too stubborn and didn't want to learn at that time. :( Now I wish I had been more cooperative!

A fine musician~

I really enjoy how coreography looks! My family and I considered learning this song for Prairie Days, but I don't think it's going to happen this year. Andrew's graduation is just a couple weeks before Prairie Days and we have so many things to do for that... I thought I'd share this video anyway and hopefully it will brighten your day...



It would be nice to be a fine musician, but as it is, I'm a learning musician, and that's fine. :)
