"We" DOES consist of 5 now. :)

Our travelers made it back tonight,

Very safe and sound.

Glad to have their feet planted firm--

On North Dakota ground.

"499 pictures to import"--

Is what the camera-card read...

Mom would post a few, except--

She's headed for her bed!

Jacob's still elated of course!

Airplanes fill his head...

Instead of counting sheep for sleep

I guess he'll count clouds instead.

I baked a lemon, house cake

To celebrate their return...

They have so much to tell us,

Of all the things they've learned.

But that will wait 'til later.

It's time to hit the sack!

Tomorrow will come quickly...

It's so good to have them back!

Hi Cora,
What a creative poem that was! :) I really appreciate your daily news reports, especially in your mother's absence. Hristiyan and I couldn't figure out what you meant on July 30th when you wrote, "We talked to the travelers a couple times somewhere in there and wished them a goodnight." But after reading your poem, Hristiyan figured out that meant talking on the phone to your mother and Jacob. We listened to "He Will Carry You" while reading your blog. I haven't heard that song in a long time, but I used to love it too. Thanks for all the garden shots. I'm sending them on to my mom to let her see a little of what I wanted to show her. :) Thank you so much for your "Our Cousin's Visit" post. It meant a lot to me.

My sweet Cora Beth,
How I love your poetry! When I was sitting in class in Georgia, I turned the page in the old notebook that I was using and found your first draft to the poem that you wrote when I was at the health center almost 4 years ago. It made me cry as I thought of how your beautiful heart blessed me in THAT poem. I read it over and over during my illness and drew from your love for me. Now this is another treasure to keep in my "I'm so glad I'm your mother" file!
It's great to be home and thanks a million for keeping things going around here in the past week! May you be blessed with an equally wonderful trip sometime in the future!!!!
I love you soooo much!
Mom
PS. Thanks a million for the wonderful piano duets this morning!
