Clues and pasture pictures~

This morning after milking, I asked Andrew if I could ride along with him up to the pasture to check the cows, as I haven't been up there in a loooooooooooooong time! He said, "Yes," so after packing cameras, he and I hopped on the 4-wheeler and headed North. I took pictures along the way, as the sky was so beautiful and the grass so green and rolling.....



On the road, I mean, trail to the pasture...

Have YOU ever tried getting a nice, smooth video while riding behind your brother on an ATV on one of the bumpiest "Roads" in ND? I have!!!

Go through the gate...

Follow the almost-invisible trail (the cows will be moving into this cell of the pasture next)...

Look at that sky!

There were 4 cows who were a little too anxious to be in the next pasture cell--as they were in there already!

So, Andrew opened the gate and let them into the right place, and they quickly headed for the water tank!

"Someone always has to be a little different!".......

We had this windmill put up a couple years ago...

Two of the calves of the cows who were on the wrong side of the fence...

...and one of the mommies saying "Hi" to her baby...

After going through 2 gates and going around a slough/lake, we finally made it to the main cattle herd...

Say hello to Liza, (the black, white faced cow) who is one of my babies--meaning I raised her on a bottle a couple years ago. She is now a mother. :)

When Andrew and I started driving through the cows, they all got excited and thought it was time to move to the next cell. Here you can see them all heading for the gate in the corner. :)

Cows, cows, and more cows...

Although you didn't feel the wind blowing through your hair as you rushed down the road; and didn't need to duck to avoid getting hit by bees when passing the hives; and couldn't smell the slough water; and all that, I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into life up North and can get a feel of the wildness of it all....... :)


OH! And about the red and black item that arrived the other day........
No, it is not a Case IH combine--although I agree, that would be nice!
And no, it is not Ladybugs--although those too would be helpful!

I'll give you a few more hints and maybe you can guess it now?

*It is more of a guy's toy than a lady's.
*It's not quite as big as a combine, but is a lot larger than a Ladybug.
*My dad traded our old tractor in as part of the payment.
