Peaceful times...

This morning was just lovely (outside and in) and peaceful. Everything just felt right...

I worked at the care center (nursing home) all afternoon/evening and all went well there too. I don't think I've ever shared a picture of NCC? Well, here is one I found on their website--showing the main entrance: They have really beautiful flowers all around in the Spring!

I praise the Lord for normal, regular, peaceful days!

Mom was busy today at home. Our guys probably didn't think this day was so lovely, as they spent the whole day in a dirty, dusty elevator, taking apart that other grain cleaner, but my day was----nice. :)

People need the Lord...

There are so many hurting people in this world, so many people that could have so much more peace in their lives if they only knew that God loves them and wants them to follow His ways---ways of goodness and life and joy and peace!

Over my supper break at work tonight, I listened as a young woman told me of her life, the fear and frustrations she has. You'd never guess by looking at this woman that she had such feelings inside. You just never know what someone else may be going through....

Just now, I read an e-mail from a friend who is going through a hard time. Yet, you'd probably not guess what heartache she's experiencing just by reading her blog. You just never know what someone else may be going through....

So, please be kind to those around you. Please show them God's love. After all, you just never know what someone else may be going through. Behind that smile, there may be a lot of tears in the reserve tank for future emptying.........

I'm so glad that God knows what we're going through all the time, aren't you? He is so good to us!

The corn is as high as an elephants' eye...

....and it looks like it's climbing clear up to the sky!

While the boys drove their noisy toys this evening (a 4-wheeler and a dirt-bike), my parents and I went for a walk. We went into the corn field a ways and were amazed at how tall it is, especially the part that didn't get hailed on. My dad can not reach the top of the corn stalks, and he's tall!

It was a quite, peaceful day here, and what a lovely rest we had. Mother played the piano for our weekly hymn singing time. Each week, all 5 of us pick a hymn to sing, although occasionally we sing more than that...

Now the crickets are singing. It must be harvest time!

A peaceful day at home~

We had a lovely, peaceful day together--just the 5 of us. We listened to a great and convicting message by Dr. S. M. Davis called "What Impatience Does." The lack of patience is one of my greatest faults, I know, and I realized that I need to pray for patience more often and more fervently........

This evening, we watched an encouraging video called "To be one," but I'll wait to tell you about that until I'm more awake. :)

About our peaceful day~ (and notes on a somewhat controversial subject...)

Oh what a lovely day it was, just us 5 together! We slept in; did chores; got cleaned up; dined; Mother and I played a piano duet; we sang hymns; and then we watched a very good Dr. Davis tape. It was called, "12 reasons why I am for the permanence of marriage" and it had a lot of answers to some questions I had had in my mind about divorce and remarriage. I believe that when a man and a woman marry, they are making a commitment to each other, (a covenant,) as, nearly everyone says in their vows, "till death do us part." Dr. Davis showed scripture passages that helped me to clear up in my mind what the best thing to do is in a situation where a couple is already divorced and remarried... According to the Bible, they have committed (that's a one time thing--as it doesn't say they are committ-ing) adultery, but it also says that they are married now. If they repent of their sin, they can have a wonderful marriage in the Lord and be at peace. However, then they need to make sure they stay faithful to that partner until one of them should die. This understanding really helped me, as I had wondered before if it would be the right thing for the two, once they realized they had sinned, to separate... When there are children involved, that would seem to make everything really terrible for everyone.

Anyway, if anybody would like to watch this tape, I'd be happy to loan it to them, as Mr. Davis explains everything so much better than I did just now!

The rest of the afternoon, we played games and just enjoyed being together. After chores, we watched a movie together; had family prayer time; and now I'm writing here before hopping into bed. :)

One thing made this day not so lovely though.... This evening, our neighbor called and said that he had to take his wife to the hospital today, as she was having a hard time breathing. Mother's going to Bismarck tomorrow, so I think she's planning on stopping and seeing Gladys there. Prayers would be much appreciated, as Gladys has had these kinds of problems before. Thanks so much!

Guess what?

It's late again! We had a very busy day today--but I'll tell you about it in the morning.

~On the fourth day of blogging, my conscience said to me,
"Will you share God's peace?
Can you share God's joy?
Are you waisting time,
And can you blog-and do it hum-bl-y?"

As I was pondering the peace and quite of the morning, I thought I'd share a little bit about the wonderful peace we have (most of the time) on our farm. As I was thinking such thoughts, however, Andrew said, "Wow, what a nice mountain lion we have on the driveway..." If it were April fools day, I would not have looked, but seeing as this is April 5th, I took a peek out the window to see what in the world he was talking about. All I saw was an orange tom cat, so I looked at Andrew then, only to see him looking through binoculars! No wonder the little kitty looked huge. :) Thankfully, we don't have too many mountain lions around here, although we did see 2 coyotes out with our cows this morning! As I was saying, though, our life here is peaceful--usually.

I love all of Marty Goetz's music, but I'm especially fond of his song, "Blessings on the Mountain." He set the sermon-on-the-mount to music and it is so beautiful! I especially love the part, "Blessed are the peace-makers, they shall be called the sons of God..." I searched for Mr. Goetz's song on U-tube, but unfortunately didn't find it. I did see this song of his though and thought I'd share it with you:



The other thing I thought of when I was thinking of peace was a Bonanza episode we watched recently as a family. It's one of my very favorites now! I'll put the first part here to wet your appetite... It doesn't start out the best, but it gets much better. I think you'll be blessed if you have time to watch it.
