CORN!

The guys worked on bringing in our Organic, non-GMO corn from the fields today. God has been blessing us with warm weather lately. It was just lovely outside!!!

Mom and I spent the afternoon cleaning off the garden some more. We also worked on apples quite a bit and currently have apple butter simmering in the oven. :) We carried more pumpkins and squash downstairs and Mom oiled them (which helps them to keep a lot longer...)

Happy Fall to y'all!

Hi!
I enjoy reading your blog and found the statement about oiling your pumpkins and squash interesting. I have never heard of that practice before. What type of oil do you use?

THanks for the info!
Cheryl

Thank you for your kind greetings, Carra! :)

Cheryl,
It is nice to hear from you!
I don't think the kind of oil you use matters at all, so the least expensive would do just fine. :) The oil keeps molds from growing on the squash/pumpkins so that they keep much longer. We just learned that trick last year and found it helpful....
