Things don't always go as expected...

Mother, Jacob & My "Agenda" for the day looked something like this:

  • Clean house

  • Cook feast--including pumpkin bars

  • Get down Winter clothes from attic

  • Make lots of applesauce/juice

  • Do lots of laundry

  • Do evening chores

God's "Agenda" for our day looked more like this:

  • Clean a little bit of the house (and be glad you swept the floor yesterday!)

  • Cook a quick feast--including pumpkin bars

  • Make 1 batch of applesauce/juice--which is still in the juicer

  • Do a couple loads of laundry

  • Cora: Go to town to put money in the bank and to work the first half of a shift at the nursing home because other people called in sick...

  • Mother & Jacob: Spend 4 hours of the afternoon up chasing cows/bulls back in the fence and then fixing the fence. Then, try to drive home, but the Ram won't start, so Jacob, drive your dirt bike back to the farm and bring the 4-wheeler back up to the pasture to pick up your mother and finish going around the fence. But oops, Dad's 4-wheeler won't start, so get your brothers' 4-wheeler out of the Quonset, but first you have to get that big heavy door open. Eventually, you manage to do this task, with the help of a pry bar; shop jack; tractor loader; oh yes, and some muscle power!

Needless to say, God knows the plans He has for us and we just have to follow Him, and be willing to bend!

I'm so glad Sabbath is here though!

Gracious! What a change in plans! The Lord is Good though. It's beautiful to see that He changes our lives to suit His purpose... even when we don't always understand it! :)

Oh, my, it sounds like things that happen around here at times. Glad that every day isn't like that?!

Dear Cora,

You have captured my sentiment entirely. However, while I walked the 3/4 mile of fence until Jacob got back, I got tired. While I rested, I did an AnimalTalk session on the cattle herd.
Later on, I saw that there were several animals who hadn't made the jailbreak with the herd. When I went back to get them back in with the herd, I saw that one of the calves was sick. I did several shorts sessions during the times that he took to rest. I'm wondering if God was making me aware of the fact that I have done very little AnimalTalk on the herd. You know, out of sight, out of mind.
One other thing warmed my heart. The sick calf had a good friend. He would not leave his weak buddy no matter how badly he wanted to get back to his mama. He kept going ahead; turning around; and urging Red #5 to keep trying. It made me ponder what kind of friend I am at times.
Happy Sabbath, dear, and thanks for posting. I just LOVE your blog!!!!!!!!!
