Let it......snow?

It has been snowing most of the day here and there's now a thick blanket of white over everything... It's so pretty~

My dad headed for town this morning to get some supplies... While at the hardware store, he bought a new faucet for our kitchen sink! Hooray! Our old one has been dripping for months. The guys took it apart a while back and cleaned it up and it worked for a little while then, but it soon got right back to dripping. Dad put the new faucet in and it is SO nice not to listen to that sound anymore, although I'm afraid it will take us a little while to get used to not turning the handle a little up and to the right all the time (to slow the stream down to a drip!)

Mother and Jacob got serious with schoolwork today, while Dad and Andrew worked on fixing things around the house. It is so wonderful to have handymen who live in the very same house with you!

I ground up the pumpkin Mother had baked yesterday and put 4 quarts in the freezer. Then I used the quart I had left out to make a double batch of pumpkin bars--one of our very favorite desserts! The only sad part about making the bars is that Mother and I are now doing the Master Cleanse (otherwise known as the "Lemonade Diet") and won't be eating anything for a couple weeks, so we won't be eating any of them! :)

We made more applesauce and juice today too and canned some salsa... It was so nice to be inside with the snow blowing around outside!

(later) I just got off the phone with Mrs. Dagley... We talked over some of the plans for the wedding and visited. She shared how God's been giving her verses in the Bible everyday to help her as she tries to think of daily life without her daughter's presence.

Amanda & I've been e-mailing back and forth with some clothing issues too... She sent a picture of her brother and sister-in-law so that I could see what the guys will be wearing and what the ladies' blouses look like. Once I saw that it would match, I ordered a pretty denim skirt last night and now can hardly wait for it to come... I'm just so excited and can't wait for November to arrive! I can't imagine how excited Amanda must be now (and James too, of course!!!)

Dear Cora,
snow! that must be so pretty! Can't wait till ours comes!
We had a kitchen faucet just like that a few years ago!(we live in a 104 year old farm house).

Is the lemonade diet, the one with lemon juice, honey and cayenne?

It's going to be so fun for you to dress up all fancy!
I would not be able to wait if I were you!

Well I better go, I have a busy day ahead of me.
Have a good day
~Grace

We don't snow like that over here! We have LOTS of colorful leaves on the ground though!

Your comment about getting the handle just right on the faucet so it wouldn't drip as much reminded me of times when we have had a drippy faucet! You do learn to compensate for that. How nice that it is all fixed now! It truly is nice to have handy men around. Can't wait to see pictures of the wedding!

Dear sisters~
Thanks for taking the time to comment once again... :)
Grace~
Yes, the Lemonade diet is the one you mentioned, except we use Grade B Organic Maple Syrup instead of honey. We have read that you can use honey if you don't have the maple syrup, so if we run out of syrup, I'm sure we'll give that a try. Have you ever done this cleanse? I'm doing it for the sake of the health benefits and also am hoping to lose a few pounds before the wedding. :)
I'd best get crunching through the snow to the barn...
Blessings,
Cora
