My 300th post!

I was so surprised to see, upon logging in to my account here, that this is my 300th post!!! It sure doesn't seem like I've posted that many times, but I'm sure the computer's kept better track than I have over the last 7 months... I feel so blessed to have met so many new friends through blogging already (and to be able to keep up with what former friends are up to..) and look forward to getting to know you all better in the days, weeks, months and years ahead!
One of the results of one of my blogging friendships is that I've learned how to make Mozzarella cheese! (Thank you Grace for all of your helpful advice, pictures, and for your recipe...) I made my second batch of cheese today and it turned out MUCH better than the first batch I made. I was so excited!!! It's so nice to be able to make a cheese that melts. I put most of this:

...on the homemade pizza I made for the guys' supper tonight and it browned really nicely. I did save a little cheese back though so that, come Sunday (when Mom and I get off of the Master Cleanse,) I can taste some. :)

Another of my projects today was to make 3 batches of ice cream from the cream we separated the other day. We won't be eating it until Jacobs' birthday (Nov. 5th) and the boys' birthday party (Nov. 14th), but I wanted to make it and get it in the freezer now before the cream soured...

Most of my afternoon was spent in changing my summer and winter clothes around--always a big project... Mother did hers the other day, so now we can focus on the guys' things next...

Speaking of the guys, Jacob was busy with schoolwork today, but Dad and Andrew worked on cleaning out the lot across the road and spreading the "Fertilizer" on the old alfalfa field--the one that someone here will be breaking come Springtime. It is so nice to have 2 spreaders that work now--and 2 fellows to run them!

As I close post #300, I thought I'd share a poem I found just now... When I read it, I realized how it happened that I reached this numerical obtainment: Just by posting one post at a time!

ONE BY ONE

"One step and then another,

And the longest walk is ended;

One stitch and then another,

And the largest rent is mended.

One brick upon another,

And the highest wall is made;

One flake upon another,

And the deepest snow is laid.

Then do not look disheartened

On the work you have to do,

And say that such a mighty task

You never can get through;

But just endeavor day by day

Another point to gain,

And soon the mountain which you feared

Will prove to be a plain."

May all your mountains prove to be plains--with God's help on the journey, of course!

Yeah! Congratulations dear friend! :D I am so happy for you! Hehe, funny how these posts accumulate huh? ;) Lol!

OH, Yum! Your mozzarella looks fabulous! :D I wish we could do that...almost. ;) I bet it did taste pretty good! :) And homemade ice cream, oh, it's cold out here, but I could go for a bowl myself! :D

We already changed our clothes around. It was getting too cold. :) I haven't worn a short sleeved shirt in weeks I don't think!

Ah, that was a lovely poem! I will have to copy that and put it on my bulletin board here in the basement by the computer. It is a great comforter and cheer-er upper for those gloomy self-pity kinds of days. ;)

Love and Hugs dear friend!

Dear sweet daughter,

I am soooooooo happy that you delight in sharing your life with others of like mind through your blog. It is sooo wonderful how the Lord has blessed you with such sweet friends through MAIDEN IN THE HOUSE OF GOD!

Thank you for sharing that poem. I am discouaraged this morning that the weight loss seems to have stopped even though I've been faithful to the Master Cleanse. "Your" poem reminded me to keep pressing on towards the mark as it's just one pound at a time too!

Thanks for being my partner in this endeavor. I have to admit that I could never have made ice cream like you did yesterday. Your heart is pure as gold and I love you and am sooo proud of your success--both as a blogger and as a beautiful woman of God!

Love immensely,

Mom

One by one we do seem to get those tasks completed, don't we. 300 posts! I don't remember how many I have but I was surprised how many I had written. When I get overwhelmed I try to remember to "just do the next thing."

The cheese looks lovely. Back when we used to get fresh milk I made cheese a few times as well as fresh yogurt.

Love you blog!

If you visit my friend, Grace's blog here: http://marillahillbilly.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-09-13T07%3A45%3A00-04%3A00&max-results=3
she shares the recipe--complete with pictures. I was having a few problems with my first batch and wrote Grace for help and she gave further details here: http://marillahillbilly.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-09-26T09%3A25%3A00-04%3A00&max-results=3.
She also has a Feta cheese recipe that I haven't tried yet but intend to one of these days. Hope that helps!
