Scenes from my dad's childhood...

This morning found us hustling through chores; showering; and mixing up a batch of pancakes quick. See, we were headed for Hannover (to the church my dad grew up attending) to help celebrate his aunt's 80th birthday. My grandma came here from Eureka and joined us for brunch and then we all piled into our van and headed West together.
This is "Salem Sue", the giant cow on the hill by New Salem. We also saw a huge group of motorcyclists (my Dad counted 61 bikes!) travelling down the road together, and I tried getting a picture but it didn't turn out.
This picture is of my great aunt's pretty cake. It's always fun to look at other people's work and get new ideas...
...And this picture is of my parents in the balcony of my dad's old church... We went up there to look at the pipe organ, which I got pictures of too, but will wait for another day to post.
I took a lot more pictures throughout the day of the sites we saw and of the birthday party, but as it's getting late and I need to get to bed so as to be able to get up early to get ready for my grandpa's 80 birthday party, I'd best go!

We just passed right by that church when we went to visit some friends this week!

It's a small world!
