To a gosling...

Little goose dressed in softest down--

Brightly colored is your gown.

So helpless in the trough were you!

How you got there, no-one knew.

Andrew rescued you at last,

(While mother goose looked on--aghast...)

He brought you to me--near the gate.

Where I waited in an eager state--

To hold you close and caress you, dear,

For you're the first gosling I've held this year!

They took our picture, you and I,

(Because you're such a darling guy).

Then, to your mama you were sent off,

"Goodbye fuzzy friend--

------------------------and stay clear of the trough!"

Cora,
I see that all of those years of reading poetry are serving you well! I can't decide if the cutest one on the picture is the gosling you're holding or YOU!
Proud of your creativity,
Mom

Thank you all for your comments!
The goslings were all with their mother this morning, so perhaps they learned their lesson yesterday and will stay clear of the trough. :)
