She dug through some files and then pulled out a piece of paper that had a check attached to the bottom of it.
"Here it is." She handed the page to me.
"Oh, thank you!" I looked at the paper with baited breath--to see if the sum was enough to cover my operating loan payment that's due on Tuesday... Yes, it was enough--and then some. I'm praising the Lord so very much tonight!!!
So, that was the "Out with the old" part...
The "In with the new" came to me in a loader bucket this morning--a new black bull calf from one of my cows! He needed some warming up and, later, when we took him back out to his mommy, she was obviously not going to take care of him, so he ended up back in the barn and I bottle fed him his supper. Hopefully tomorrow we can get Mrs. Trouble in one of the barns and then hopefully she'll still remember her baby...
Enough cow talk for now though...
I heard a beautiful song on the radio when I was making supper and later looked it up on You-Tube. I'd like to share it with you now, if you have a few moments.~

That is wonderful that you were able to get a good price for your calves =D.
I like baby cows so much! We don't know if we will get any calves for sure this year =C. We aren't going to get Mocha bred until this fall, Lilac has not been able to get bred at all for the past couple years, and the little heifer might be bred but time will tell. We have a little jersey bull calf and once he is bigger we will be able to get our cows bred without the hassle of trying to get them over to a farm at the right time. We don't know if we are going to keep Lilac or not. It is kind of sad to think of getting rid of her, but a sterile cow is not much good :).
I did not listen to the song because our internet is slow "high speed" and it take a several minutes to download movies and such. I like Isaiah 40:31 alot. Isaiah is one of my favorite books in the bible. A favorite verse of mine is Isaiah 58:11. (I may have shared that before- did I?)

I'm sorry to hear that your cows may not be bred, as I fully know what that means! I have a cow who doesn't take very well and am going to have to sell her this year. Also, Jacob's thinking he's going to have to sell his cow, Lilac, as she keeps on batteling with mastitis in one quarter--no matter how well we milk her out. It's so sad to get rid of milk cows, as they become like pets, don't they?
I don't think you shared that about Isaiah before, but I looked up the verese just now and can see why you like it so much. :)
