I made it!

What a fun, wonderful, tiring, exuberating......time we've had here the last couple of days!!!

This will be short, as I'll post pictures another day and explain them then, but I did want to give the results of our 2 day Appleseed event:

On Saturday, we had 16 shooters on the firing line and nobody made "Rifleman" status that day, although if I remember correctly, we only shot 1 AQT that day?
Today, however, was another story.  :)  Out of the 11 (or so, sometimes more, sometimes less) shooters on our firing line, in the finger-freezing cold weather, 3 of us made the Rifleman score:
  1. My friend, Lauretta
  2. A shooter named Andrew from Aberdeen
  3. ME
It was especially neat that Lauretta and I both made it this morning during the very same AQT (Army Qualification Target) round.  We were bundled up like Eskimos, but I'm glad we persevered through the bulk.  :)     In order to qualify for Rifleman, you need to get a score of at least 210 points.  The first time I made Rifleman, I got 219 points, and then later in the afternoon, I made 217.  There still is plenty of room for improvement as the most points you can score is 250, but I was thrilled.  :)  Lauretta did even better than I, so she was thrilled too!

We had several other shooters making scores of 206, 208, and 209, and they want to come again next year....  :)   Oh, and just in case anyone was wondering, this was the 3rd shoot that I've attended, so sometimes it just takes a while to really learn what you're being taught and to apply it!

Much more another day...~
