Grandpa's sale has come and gone,

but the memory lingers on.....

Click HERE to view the sale flyer. Listed on the flyer are 3 pictures of household items, 1 of which I decided today to spend some of my hard-earned money on!!! Can you guess which it is?
Your options are:

  1. My Grandma's piano (that they bought brand new for over $2,000 the year my parents got married.)
  2. My grandparent's Grandfather clock (whose chimes have been a part of my childhood for as long as I can remember)
  3. The dining room table and chair set (the one that we've shared many a big feast around with family members.)

I'd love to hear your guesses!

We have praised the Lord over and over for lovely weather this day! Several people came to the sale and nearly everything got sold. Of course, we came home with another pickup-load full, but when else will we have the chance to have such things as Grandma's best silverware; Grandpa's '22 rifle; a wheelchair; and other such memorable things?

Look for pictures to come in posts ahead, both here and on my mom's blog. :) Here are a couple for starters...

And that's not all either! There was more in the back yard...................

How wonderful it is to have this day behind us--no more anticipation or dread or anything. PTL!

I would have to guess that you purchased the piano?.?.?. Whichever item you purchased I'm sure has and will continue to bring wonderful memories!

As I looked at the sale bill I saw that piano and then noticed the 12 gauge shotgun and thought the one you bought would be one of those. Then I read your blog entry and saw the three choices. So I will stick with the piano as my guess although the other two would be good things, too. So glad for you all that that day is behind you. Blessings dear Cora.

Oooooh, I would have been glad to go to that sale! (my family is made of avid "garage/estate salers") What kind of .22 is it? Wooden with bolt action, semi-auto? I like those best.

But now I must guess. I tend to envision you with a house filled with beautiful things like pianos. But then I see you mention that the clock's chimes are very much a part of your past. Ah, but you're also the practical sort. A table and chairs might be just what you were looking for to furnish your future home.

*sigh*

My guess is 1. No, 3. Maybe 2. Roar. I can't guess. :-(
