A December Day~

by Sara Teasdale

(This was the view from our patio-door this morning, after receiving between 3 and 4 inches of snow!)
Dawn turned on her purple pillow
And late, late came the winter day.
Snow was curved to the boughs of the willow,
The sunless world was white and gray.

At noon we heard a blue jay scolding,
At five the last thin light was lost
From snow-banked windows faintly holding
The feathery filigree of frost~

Dearest Cora,
Well, at least it waited until December to come. :) Although we had snow in October, it wasn't even cold then, and November was gorgeous. Still, I guess it was inevitable.
Keep warm cutie,
Mom
