Yesterday, my dad found a 2-day-old calf out in the pasture that had a broken front leg. As we've never dealt with a broken calf leg before, Mom and my brother, Andrew took Baby up to the vet in Steele. They put a splint on the calves' leg and wrapped it up good with gauze--then duct tape! The poor thing hadn't been able to drink from its' mother for a while and was pretty weak when Dad brought it in from pasture, so we're hoping it will get going again now with our TLC. Maybe, if there is a next time, we'll be able to take care of a broken leg ourselves in the future...? Here are a couple of pictures my mom took of the vet working... We are so blessed to live so close to a very good
veterinarian!
Duct tape is SO useful!
Dr. S. is one of the best!
That's all the news I have for now, but the day is just beginning! Here's wishing everyone a lovely day.~

I am glad to hear that the calf is okay and hope that is does get stronger with your TLC.. You will have to keep us updated.
I was also going to tell you that I looked at the photos of your cakes and they are amazing. You do some good work. I do not know if I would have the patience or the talent to do that. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your comment... I'm glad you like my cakes. I made the pancake one for grandpa last year and he thought at first that I'd really brought him pancakes! :)
Have a happy anniversary, by the way!
Unfortunatly, all of our TLC wasn't enough to keep the calf alive. :( My dad thinks that perhaps it had internal injuries that it couldn't heal from...
