A peaceful day~

As the roads were slippery and there was a good chance of a blizzard this afternoon, we spent a lovely day at home together:
  • singing hymns;
  • reading in the book we're studying together;
  • dining;
  • and watching the newest version (which is now my favorite version!) of Emma...

Emma makes so much trouble for herself, but how delightful it is when everything comes out right in the end. :)

I am reminded now of the verse in the Bible where it says:

"...We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
~Romans 8:28

Dear Cora,
Thank you so much for sharing this latest ('09) version of Emma with us. It was put together much better in most respects, but I liked the other version where at the end she went and shook Mr. Marten's hand and acknowledged him as her equal on this planet. My goodness, thinking of the troubles that Emma had almost makes me glad that I'm not rich. :)
Happy today my wonderful daughter,
Mom

Dear Cora

I've had a lot of 'internet' catching up to do again, as we've had a busy January so far and I but I've enjoyed reading up on your last few posts!

I must say that home made bread looks absolutely delicious!! It's a pity that we can't just reach through the photo and cut a slice! :D

I haven't yet seen this version of Emma.

Romans 8:28 is a wonderful verse! It's such a comfort to the Believer. My mom is always quoting this verse.

Keep well.
Lots of love,
Rachel*
